I graduated from U.C. Berkeley, where I was a student-athlete, and I received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History. I received my Doctor of Jurisprudence (JD) from the University of Hawaii, where I was the Executive Editor of the Law Review.  According to this personal injury attorney prior to starting my own practice, Law Office of Roman Amaguin, I practiced at two large law firms in Hawaii. Between 1995 and 2006, I was a personal injury lawyer and became a partner/director at a large Honolulu law firm.

In 2007 and 2008, I practiced at another large Hawaii law firm as an “Of Counsel” attorney, for the most part filling the role of a workers comp attorney for them, as well as Employment Law Representation. This allowed me to build on my employment/labor law practice by working as a workers compensation attorney for an established firm. Within I helped in any way I could, by providing workers compensation attorney services,  as well as workplace injury prevention services. Since I was one of their workers compensation lawyers, I litigated general civil cases ranging from complex business disputes and class actions to personal injury and real property disputes together with a real estate law firm.

I am on the Employment Law Arbitration Panel for National Arbitration and Mediation and I am an Arbitrator for the State of Hawaii’s Court Annexed Arbitration Program.

In 2014 I was selected a “Top Rated Lawyer in Labor and Employment” by American Lawyer Media, the nation’s largest publisher of legal media, including the National Law Journal, the American Lawyer, and Corporate Counsel.

I have also been selected to the exclusive Hawaii Super Lawyers list.

I am experienced, dedicated and have an exceptional record representing parties in litigation.
